Blenders
When it comes to the crunch, does the kind of blender you use matter? We reckon it does.
But we know that not everyone wants to buy a top-of-the-range kick ass blender. Luckily there are some great options when it comes to getting a blender to suit your needs (and budget).
There are some key things to look out for when choosing a blender:
- Metal parts – make sure you pick a blender that uses metal parts to connect the blender motor to the base of the jug. If one or both of the parts are plastic the blender will not last long L
- Power is important (but not the be all and end all) – It is definitely important to choose a blender with a powerful motor (anything upwards of 1000W), however, power doesn’t tell you anything about efficiency and performance of the motor. There are blenders on the market with 2000W motors that don’t deliver the same performance as the Vitamix which as a 1500W motor.
- Blade speed – anything above 29,000 rpm should be able to turn almonds into a creamy milk consistency, and spinach into a smooth green liquid
- Brand – if you are going to spend a good amount of money on a blender, aim for a quality brand and make sure it comes with a good warranty. Apart from our two favourites below we also recommend Blendtec, Optimum and Thermomix
We recommend:
